Equine Connected Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EC-EMDR) and Inner Child Work

A talk by Kathleen Choe and Bettina Shultz-Jobe
Natural Lifemanship

This workshop is designed to demonstrate the unique and powerful ways EC-EMDR can facilitate inner child work. We all carry within us an inner child that holds either positive or negative memories and messaging depending on our childhood experiences. The rhythmic, patterned, repetitive, bilateral movement of the horse creates the sensation of being held, rocked and carried for the rider, which promotes emotional regulation, a deeper sense of connection to our horse and our authentic self and rich opportunities to access this inner child. Through video clips and discussion, Kathleen and Bettina will demonstrate how to guide a client through inner child work while mounted, up to the point of setting up a target that could be processed using EC-EMDR. You do not need to be trained in EMDR to benefit from this workshop (although it might whet your appetite to be trained in this modality so you can attend our EC-EMDR NL Training next spring!)

Learning Objectives: 1. Understand the unique and powerful ways mounted work can facilitate inner child work. 2. Learn to guide the client through specific interventions to help them access their inner child. 3. Learn about Natural Lifemanship’s upcoming EC-EMDR Training in the Spring of 2021 and the pre-requisites required to attend
